Why We Created The Play Table Co.

Sometimes the best ideas start with something small.

For us, The Play Table Co. started with a simple idea for my daughter’s birthday. I wanted to create something a little different — an alternative to the usual party activities that would give the kids a chance to get hands-on, get creative and, most importantly, have fun.

What started as an activity quickly became something much bigger.

I’ve always loved creating little activities for my own children and seeing how excited they get when they have the chance to explore, create and use their imaginations. There’s something so special about watching a child completely lose themselves in play — whether they’re building something, mixing colours, making a pretend meal or simply getting their hands messy.

And, honestly, it became something for me too.

In the busyness of everyday life, finding simple ways to slow down and connect with my kids became really important to me. Sensory play gave us an opportunity to sit together, create together and just enjoy being present with each other.

That feeling is what inspired The Play Table Co.

I wanted to create activities that could bring that same sense of excitement, creativity and connection to other families — without parents needing to spend hours planning, shopping for supplies or setting everything up themselves.

From sensory play tables and themed play sets to our soft, buttery playdough, everything we create is designed with one thing in mind: making play fun, creative and easy to enjoy.

Because play doesn’t have to be complicated.

It can be a little tub of playdough, a handful of colourful pieces, a tray filled with something new to explore or a themed activity that sparks an idea. Sometimes those simple moments become the ones our children remember.

The Play Table Co. is still growing, and our ideas are constantly evolving. While we started with activities inspired by the things my own children love, our hope is to create a range of playful experiences that grow with children too — from little hands discovering sensory play to older children using their imagination in new and exciting ways.

At the heart of it all, though, the reason remains the same.

I created The Play Table Co. because play brings my children joy — and I want to share that joy with yours.
